About Us

Empowered K9 is a Wangaratta-based dog daycare and training business, proudly servicing North-East Victoria. Founded and run by nationally qualified dog trainer Michelle Cassidy, Empowered K9 was created from a genuine love of dogs and a deep belief in the power of strong, respectful relationships between dogs and their humans.

Our goal is simple: to help dogs and owners understand each other better and enjoy life together. We support owners with practical skills, clear guidance, and compassionate training methods that set both ends of the lead up for success. Our dog daycare is an extension of this philosophy, providing a safe, structured, and enriching environment where dogs can play, socialise, learn, and simply be dogs—all under attentive, professional supervision.

Michelle’s journey with dogs began at a very young age, growing up alongside them and developing an early appreciation for their loyalty and companionship. Her passion for training was sparked by the incredible bond between her father and his German Wirehaired Pointer. As a child, she believed that kind of connection was rare—but later learned that with the right communication, motivation, and understanding, it is achievable for every dog and owner.

With extensive experience and a strong focus on motivation and handler engagement, Michelle is dedicated to helping you build clear communication, confidence, and the relationship with your dog that you’ve always dreamed of.
